New Cad Designer

We are seeking a talented Solidworks CAD to join our design team. We are looking for someone with experience of product design and development using Solidworks. The role will be to support the projects team and will involve working with design engineers. We have a number of active engineering projects throughout the South West specialising in the utilities sector.

The job role includes:

  • Liaising with architects, engineers and designers to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to manufacturing and construction technicians.
  • Using the latest Solidworks software to create 3D design models.
  • Creating high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and designers and make modifications to existing drawings.
  • Ensuring drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols.
  • Producing installation and manufacturing documentation.
  • Carrying out R & D, creating libraries and automating modelling processes.
  • Working on multiple projects at various stages of design.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in the design and development of projects using Solidworks.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in SolidWorks.
  • Basic engineering knowledge.
  • Excellent IT skills, familiarity with MS Office.
  • A methodical approach to problem solving.
  • An inquisitive nature and an eye for detail.

Steel fabricator position available

Job Title: Fabricator Welder.

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset.

Function: Fabricate various steel products from cad drawings.

Salary Range: £10 to £13 per hour depending on experience.

 

We currently have a fantastic opportunity to recruit a steel fabricator at our site based in Bridgwater, just off the M5 in Somerset. We are expanding as part of the longer-term strategy for the company and this role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled and experienced team with development opportunities.

The Role

Reporting to the production manager, as a steel fabricator, you will be required to help us to supply products to the utilities sector, food production factories and construction industry. We manufacture platforms, staircases, hand railing, lifting gantries, gates, barriers and much more. This will be a workshop-based role with opportunities to gain further skills, undertake training courses and gain welding qualifications.

In this capacity, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • To liaise with the production manager to ensure we meet our production requirements.
  • To fabricate various steel products to fully detailed cad fabrication drawings.
  • To be committed to continuous improvement and adhere to 5S practices.
  • To promote the company’s goals and objectives and to support the production manager at all times.
  • Adhere to the company health and safety standards and procedures as well as promote a safety first culture.

New Production Manager Opportunity

As the production manager, you will join our dedicated team and assist the business in its continued growth within the steel fabrication sector, making Dan’s Engineering the go to place for quality and service.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, As the production manager, you will be required to manage and direct all manufacturing and logistic activities ensuring all products are manufactured and delivered on time and in full without complaint to the company production and delivery plans, within the quality and health & safety standards of the company.

In this capacity, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • To liaise with the director and the project managers to ensure we meet our production requirements.
  • Create production plans to achieve customer requirements on time.
  • To organise and cross train operators to maximize output of available resources.
  • To manage the personal development and performance of all employees within the area of responsibility.
  • To continuously improve our factory production control plan and procedures.
  • To ensure company procedures are adhered to.
  • To ensure we continue meet health and safety, quality and environmental ISO standards.
  • To liaise with external assessment bodies for all matters relating to any accreditations.
  • To produce, monitor and report on production KPIs.
  • Undertaking root cause analysis and implement corrective action where identified.
  • To liaise with engineering and production departments to trouble shoot on a daily basis and work towards eliminating sources of non-conformance.
  • To use the 5S program to organize the work place efficiently.
  • To control data accuracy and volume of work in progress materials.
  • To conduct stock-take of work in progress as and when required.

Yard Person Vacancy

We are looking for a yard person to start in February/March due to a retirement.

You will be responsible for looking after our yard and stock as well as supporting our workshop manager and site installation teams. Including such duties as manually loading and unloading materials, operating mechanical loading equipment, preparing materials for customer collections/deliveries and keeping accurate records of the receipt and issue of materials.

Main Duties and Responsibilities.

Unload and load incoming and outgoing vehicles.

Checks incoming goods against suppliers delivery note.

Marking materials for traceability.

Clean and tidy yard.

Operating lift truck and carry out daily FLT checks.

Steel cutting  – (full training given).

 

Skills and Qualities.

Good communication skills.

Counterbalance lift truck licence.

Experience of working in a similar role.

A knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations.

Methodical and organised and able to work on own initiative.

Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.

Dans Engineering Ltd are looking for a 3D Design Engineer working with SOLIDWORKS software.

 

Dan’s Engineering is a successful metal fabricator based in Bridgwater, Somerset.

 

Due to the company’s growth we now require an Design Engineer to join their team.

 

The role holder will be responsible for the design, drawing and development of new projects as well as maintenance of existing projects. They will contribute to the Company’s success by assisting the Managing Director in matters relating to design. Furthermore, they will be proactive and efficient whilst keeping a close eye on costs. This is a permanent opportunity based in Bridgwater. We are offering a competitive salary and continued training/updates in the software.

 

Duties will include:

•Carrying out design processes and development.

•To supervise and oversee the designs through the factory, ensuring accuracy and quality

The chosen candidate must be able to practice good interpersonal skills to successfully liaise with shop floor employees. They must be able to recognise potential quality issues through production and indicate these to employees. Finally, the ideal candidate will be IT literate and proficient in all standard Microsoft programs.

Apprenticeships starting September 2017

 

Have you got a passion for welding and fabrication? If so, we have an opportunity for an apprenticeship based at our workshop in Bridgwater.

 

Your apprenticeship will run alongside Bridgwater & Taunton College.  We will be there to assist and guide you through your apprenticeship.  Your role will involve:

- Understanding drawings and specifications to determine the required materials and equipment for the job,

- Cutting, rolling, shaping and heating metal products to produce parts,

- Utilising various equipment and techniques for assembling fabrication parts and structures,

- Aligning and fixing pieces together through welding and bolting,

- Adding finishing touches to products through cleaning, polishing, filing and/or applying protective finishes.
